Tarot provides a light-hearted avenue for thinking about our fears and desires
If there is one thing a writer knows it is fear and desire. Every time I begin a new writing class I am confronted with participants who have the look of a rabbit caught in the headlights. The fear and desire is palpable.
A good way to start is to ask yourself “What would the Fool do?”
Then take the challenge and think like the Fool! What do you have to lose? Take a few deep breaths, take the leap and just launch into stream of consciousness writing.
Perhaps write about taking a leap of faith or what you have in that swag over your shoulder. Don’t worry about grammar, sentence structure or try to write anything profound. Literally just spew words onto the page.
